Taipei Hackathon to Promote Energy Efficiency as Cultural Norm

The What: Taipei City is hosting a Smart and Energy Efficient Home Hackathon on November 22, 2015 at National Taiwan University. The goal is to provide effective and creative energy saving ideas to Taipei’s citizens to enable them to reduce energy usage and pollution and promote energy efficiency as a cultural norm. The event is hosted by Taipei City and the Taipei Computer Association.

The When: Sunday, November 22, 2015, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm

The Where: The event will take place at National Taiwan University’s Sports Center, Level B1 Ping Pong Room, No.1, Section 4, Roosevelt Road, Taipei City, Daan District.

The Who: Anyone who is passionate about energy efficiency and reducing energy usage and pollution.

The How: Registration is closed.

The Details: The Hackathon will include team presentations and judging. Selected teams will have until midnight of November 22nd to upload their presentation videos to Facebook and then there will be four days for an online Facebook popularity contest. With the inclusion of the score from the popularity contest, the final six teams will be selected to install energy efficient products in the home of one of their team members and provide measurements and data analysis over the course of one month. The final round of judging will award 700,000 NTD in prize money.
