Congratulations to Mr. Hari Sripadanna on receiving LEED for Homes Gold certification for his residence in Saratoga, California.  The Sripadanna Residence is the first detached single custom home in Santa Clara County and Silicon Valley to receive LEED-H Gold certification and has set the high standard for the community.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Mr. Sripadanna’s home one sunny weekend afternoon.  I was inspired by the elegant architectural design, the strategic siting of building elements, and the harmonious flow of interior spaces which provided thermal comfort on an 80 °F day.  Topped with a few green roofs and served by a very low energy bill, this newly built home is an educational model from which we can learn and a valuable addition to an old charming neighborhood filled with Eichler inspired homes.
