Green California Summit and Exposition

California is a well known leader in green: building, technology, services, innovations, and so much more.  Government agency purchasers, policy makers, facility managers, and product and service suppliers will be converging April 19th-20th at the Sacramento Convetion Center for the 2011 Green California Summit and Exposition.

Sustainability and recovery are intertwined.  This year’s theme is “Green Paths to Economic Recovery”.  It will be addressed in keynote sessions and education seminars covering diverse topics which include water management, renewable energy, green economy, green workforce, climate change, and environmentally preferable purchasing.

City of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and Terry Tamminen, Founder/President of 7th Generation Advisors, are among the many speakers who will focus on identifying strategies and technologies that offer both economic and environmental benefits.  There will be over 200 exhibitors showcasing their green services and products.  Pre-summit workshops on April 18th will cover various topics including LEED project management and understanding CAL Green–California’s new green building code.  The 2011 Green California Leadership Awards will also be presented at the Summit.

This annual event has been organized by Green Technology, a non-profit initiative designed to inform government efforts toward sustainability.  They provide a forum through which government officials can communicate with those in the private sector that are developing and distributing green technologies.

Keynote sessions and the Expo are free to registered attendees while there is a fee for the educational seminars.
