The Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) is proud to announce the launch of its online library of green building resources featuring close to 400 publications, databases and articles. Visit www.cec.org/gblibrary to access news and analysis of green building construction in the North American region and beyond: from green policy initiatives and financing models, to training materials and integrated design approaches.

Special thanks to Ann Edminster, the Chair of the CEC’s Green Building Task Force, Olivia Collins, and Rosemarie Le Faive for their remarkable effort in putting together this very useful database.

This online resource is one of several initiatives that the CEC and its task force of trilateral experts on green building have carried out as part of the CEC’s work on improving conditions for green building construction in North America. Looking ahead as part of this continued effort, in 2013-14 the CEC Council (made up of North America’s three cabinet-level environment ministers) has mandated a renewed focus on supporting workforce training and best practices, building capacity in Mexico for implementing the ENERGY STAR program, and supporting access to green building construction in remote communities in North America.

CEC will soon publish three reports covering a large breadth of issues:

  • Resources and innovative mechanisms for financing green building construction and retrofit.
  • A compilation of best practices for promoting green building construction provided by local governments across the continent.
  • An analysis of what we need to know about workforce training and education for green building in North America.

Once published, these reports will be available at the CEC’s new online publications library at: www.cec.org/publications.
