Building Health Forum

The What: Join more than 275 of the world’s preeminent experts and thought leaders pioneering the healthy buildings and healthy communities movement at USGBC Northern California Chapter’s upcoming Building Health Forum for a series of provocative keynotes, educational sessions, tours, and networking receptions. The Building Health Forum is the first feature-length event produced by the Building Health Initiative, an unprecedented coalition of 40 world-class companies and organizations from multiple sectors revolutionizing procurement strategies, fostering healthier communities and, ultimately, reframing green building as a public health issue.

The When: Thursday, December 11, 2014, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm

The Where: The event will take place at Genentech Hall, UCSF Mission Bay, 600 16th Street, San Francisco, CA 94158 United States

The Who:

  • Architects, engineers, designers, and consultants
  • Builders and developers
  • Owners of buildings
  • Health planning, science, and medical professionals
  • Anyone who is concerned about green building as a public health issue

The Details:

  • Registration, networking, and breakfast
  • The Morning Plenary will feature Patti Mitchell, Brian Back, Elizabeth Baca, Esther Sternberg, and Dick Jackson
  • Morning and afternoon Educational Sessions are divided into three tracks:  Design & Indoor Environmental Quality; Community & Social Equity; and Materials & Transparency
  • Walking tours of various UCSF buildings will also be offered
  • The Closing Plenary will feature David Orr, Tony Stefani, and Majora Carter
  • Session speakers include: Arlene Blum, Andrea Traber, Mara Baum, John Picard, Mikhail Davis, and many others representing a wide range of disciplines including design, manufacturing, health planning, medicine, real estate, technology, and government
