Accelerate Transition to Circular Built Environment

The WhatWasteBuild is the first and only international event with the dedicated ambition to eliminate global waste and transition to a circular economy. It is the event for a circular and regenerative built environment, and it’s free to attend. Pack your bags for Amsterdam.

Today, the construction process accounts for 40% – 50% of all materials used globally and for 20% of the waste created. Increasing public awareness and an appetite to tackle waste in all forms is encouraging the adoption of robust circular economy roadmaps across all governments, with innovations in the built environment critical to every plan.

This movement away from the old linear ‘take, make, waste’ approach towards a circular economy is backed up by regulations, standards and initiatives like that described in the video created by BAMB (Building As Material Banks.

WasteBuild 2019 is the only event dedicated to the international architecture, engineering and construction community and to specifically understanding the opportunities that the circular economy brings. The two-day exhibition and conference brings together a community of like-minded built environment innovators who are committed to doing something about the global waste crisis.

The conference programme will feature 50 of the world’s leading experts, discussing central themes such as Cradle to Cradle, design for disassembly and the circular economy. Developers are exploring these techniques and are looking for designers and delivery teams who can deliver successful schemes. It will also showcase over 100 sponsors and exhibitors who are innovating and inspiring with new circular building materials and techniques.

By highlighting the opportunities that exist in this space today, WasteBuild will accelerate the built environments take-up of these materials and techniques and thereby be a catalyst for the process of eliminating waste.
