The third edition of Rebuild will take place on September 25 – 26 in Riva del Garda, Italy. Rebuild, the conference on sustainable retrofit and management of the real estate sector is leading this new market. Rebuild has broken new ground focusing on key problems: the end of the traditional real estate market for new buildings, the soil-use issue, the weak bonds between financial, real estate, and architectural sector, sustainability as a way to re-think buildings, and sustainable management as a key for preserving real estate assets. The first two conferences debated the issue of rehabilitation and sustainable management of real estate assets and the need to “rebuild,” or to create a new field. Now that the market has been activated, this year’s conference will focus on “how to” Rebuild. Which technologies are the most efficient and sustainable? What are the financial instruments that are proving their efficiency? How can results be maximized? Currently there is a call for papers and speakers. The program will be available in the coming months.
Conference organizer Habitech is Italy’s nationally recognized cluster for green building, renewable energy, and sustainable transport. The cluster develops projects, offers services for innovation, as well as technical and commercial support for businesses. Conference organizer Progetto Manifattura, the Green Innovation Factory, was set up in 2009 by the Autonomous Province of Trento to focus on transforming historic former tobacco plants in Rovereto, Italy into clean tech development zones where they house sustainable development hubs and showcase the latest innovations.
