NAPHN17: Passive + Renewables

October 4, 2017 @ 9:00 am - October 8, 2017 @ 5:00 pm UTC+0

The NAPHN17 Conference & Expo – Passive + Renewables will take place on October 4th – 8th in Oakland, California, US. The goal of the conference is to promote and accelerate the adoption of Passive House building strategies in North America, and to work with others who share our vision for a POST CARBON ALL-RENEWABLE ENERGY FUTURE.

This event is focused on the nexus between buildings, renewable energy generation and large-scale, grid-supplied renewable energy storage. We’ll show how Passive House buildings are primed to accelerate our transition to an ALL RENEWABLE ENERGY FUTURE through optimization, electrification and an equitable crediting of renewable energy for urban markets.

We know the future is comfortable, quiet and already here… but shsssh… (not everyone knows about it just yet!) We’re expecting 1000+ attendees this year in Oakland – the majority of them from the architecture, engineering and construction community with others joining us from policy, utility and renewable industry sectors. Our confirmed keynote presenter is Scott Foster, Director of Sustainable Energy Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Scott will share details of the new UNECE building standard developed by the UN and outline how it utilizes Passive House principles to help UN member states achieve their carbon reduction targets for buildings.
