The Living Building Challenge Connecticut Presents: Using Passive House to Get to Net Zero Energy seminar will take place on May 13th in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. Get the inside scoop on implementing Passive House standards in new home construction, and learn how meeting Passive House makes achieving Net-Zero Energy more feasible and cost-efficient. Mr. Bill Freeman, owner of Celebration Contracting, will share highlights of his experience building a Passive House-certified home in Guildford, CT, illuminating the builder’s perspective on how the demanding and prescriptive standard plays out in the real world.

Learning Objectives include: Understanding the premise of the Passive House standard and how it can contribute to Net Zero Energy; Identifying key construction techniques that are particular to Passive House; Discussing how Passive House can contribute to achieving Net-Zero Energy and Living Building Challenge Certification; and Recognizing the potential challenges to meeting Passive House requirements that can arise during construction and how to address these proactively.
